Sondra Gray is the author of According to Punkin and According to Phoenix, currently in publication. She is now writing the third book of her “According to” series, According to Taffy featuring the newest member of the family. Her pets “tell” the stories of their lives in an eighteen-wheeler with Sondra and her husband. As independent truckers, they travel the United States together with Sondra relating stories of their adventures from their pet’s perspectives. She was inspired to write According to Punkin for a group of students with whom they were Trucker Friends. It has sold more than five thousand copies since its release in 2006. According to Phoenix is due to be released in late 2010.
Sondra was born and raised in Alabama where she attended Snead Jr. College and the University of Alabama. She met Walter and they were married in 1964. They later moved to Missouri where they currently reside. They attend First Baptist Church of Louisburg where Sondra is pianist. They have three sons and five grandchildren.
Since the release of her first book, According to Punkin, Sondra has spoken at universities, churches, conferences, civic events and retirement homes. She has had the opportunity to visit many schools, speaking with students about the rewards of reading and writing. She has had a number of interviews for newspapers, magazines and TV. Sondra enjoys doing a variety of crafts in her spare time.
